Spring Valley woman charged in stabbing that left man critically injured

SPRING VALLEY — A 30-year-old woman has been charged with multiple felonies in connection with a stabbing that left a man critically injured last week.

Shanice Ramsay of Spring Valley was arrested Aug. 25 following an investigation into the Aug. 19 incident, according to the Spring Valley Police Department.

Police responded to 11 E. Church St. at approximately 1:15 a.m. Aug. 19 for a reported stabbing.

Officers found a male victim bleeding with multiple lacerations and a stab wound to his body.

The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Spring Hill Ambulance in critical condition.

Ramsay resisted arrest and was taken into custody after a brief struggle, police said.

During the arrest, officers found Ramsay in possession of a quantity of fentanyl.

She was charged with assault in the first degree, attempted robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Ramsay was arraigned before Judge Mellion of the Spring Valley Justice Court.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash, $10,000 secured bond or $20,000 partially secured bond.

She was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
