Bowdoinham man taken into custody after domestic incident, suicide threat

BOWDOINHAM — The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic situation involving a man threatening suicide and possibly possessing a firearm on Fisher Road at 9:22 a.m. Monday.

Multiple deputies and Maine State Police responded to the area after receiving the call.

Information indicated the man had left the scene in a vehicle with an unknown direction of travel.

Authorities issued a “shelter in place” message to the immediate area for public safety reasons.

The man was located approximately 20 minutes later and taken into protective custody without incident.

He was transported to a hospital for a mental health evaluation and a Weapons Restriction Order.
