FLEMING — A truck hauling an empty box trailer crashed into an earth embankment after leaving the roadway on State Route 34 near Glanville Road on Aug. 25, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred at 11:14 a.m. when the northbound truck went off the west side of the roadway and entered a ditch, Sheriff Brian Schenck said.
The driver sustained injuries to his head and torso during the crash.
Mercy Flight transported the driver to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including Fleming Fire Department, Owasco Fire Department, Auburn Fire Department, Mercy Flight, Auburn City Ambulance, Scipio Fire Department, and the Cayuga County E-911 Center.
