Colonie motorcyclist dies in Central Avenue crash

COLONIE — A motorcyclist died Friday night after colliding with a passenger vehicle on Central Avenue near Fox Avenue, police said.

The Colonie Police Department received multiple calls about the crash at approximately 11 p.m. Friday.

Officers arrived to find the motorcycle had collided with the passenger vehicle in the roadway.

Colonie EMS and Stanford Heights Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the passenger vehicle stopped after the crash and is cooperating with the investigation.

The Colonie Police Department Traffic Safety Division is conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash.

The names of those involved are being withheld until proper next of kin notification is completed.

A small section of Central Avenue was closed during the investigation but has since reopened.
