PUTNAM — The Putnam Police Department responded to reports of auto burglaries that occurred during overnight hours Thursday.
There was no forced entry into any of the vehicles, and they were entered because they were left unlocked.
The targeted area was residential neighborhoods in the north end of Putnam.
The Putnam Police Department is reminding residents to always lock their vehicles and remove keys and other valuables from view inside their vehicle or take them into their home.
“These are crimes of opportunity, and I cannot stress enough, if you take away the opportunity by locking your vehicles, removing your keys, or other valuables from sight, you minimize the chance of being victimized,” police said.
