Montville motorcycle crash leaves rider in serious condition

MONTVILLE — Maine State Police are investigating a single-occupant motorcycle crash that occurred Aug. 22 at 7:03 a.m. near the intersection of South Mountain Valley Highway and Hogback Mount Road.

First responders found a 50-year-old male operator unconscious and in serious condition.

The rider, whose name is not being released, was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by Life Flight.

Maine State Police Central Field Troop and Troop K responded to the scene along with Montville Fire and Rescue and the Maine State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.

The incident remains under investigation, and speed has been determined to be one of the primary causes of the crash.
