3 arrested in Lenox motorcycle shop break-in after police chase

LENOX — Three Springfield men were arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly breaking into a motorcycle dealership and leading police on a chase that ended on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at North’s Services, 515 Pittsfield Road, at 2:59 a.m. Aug. 23.

While responding to the scene, Officer Bosworth observed a pickup truck fleeing southbound on Pittsfield Road with four motorcycles in its bed.

Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled south on Routes 7 and 20, then east on Route 20 before entering the Massachusetts Turnpike eastbound.

The Massachusetts State Police deployed a tire deflation device at the 38-mile marker of Route 90, where the vehicle eventually came to rest.

Five occupants fled from the vehicle on foot.

Three suspects were arrested and transported to Lenox Police for processing, while two others remain unidentified.

Each arrestee was held on $10,000 cash bail and charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, larceny over $1,200, and larceny from a building.

Two prisoners were transported to the Berkshire County House of Correction and the third awaits bail at the Lenox Police Department.

The arrested individuals are Steven Yariel Perales-Gonzalez of Alden Street, Springfield; Izmael Morales of Plumbtree Road, Springfield; and Elijah Carter of 17 Cambridge, Springfield.

North’s Services is a motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle business.

The case remains under investigation.
