BOSTON — Two suspects were arrested following a shooting that wounded a man on Charlotte Street Thursday evening.
Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 24 Charlotte Street at about 4:50 p.m. for a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers requested Boston EMS to respond to the scene and began to render medical aid.
As officers were treating the victim, he was able to provide them with a description of the suspects.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers knocked and announced their presence at one of the apartments, but no one answered the door.
Officers set up a perimeter around the location, and the supervisor on scene requested the SWAT team to respond and members of the Boston Police Negotiations Team.
After successful negotiations, both suspects exited the apartment and were placed into handcuffs.
Juan Soto Perez, 31, of Dorchester, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60.
Antonio Anthony, 60, of Dorchester, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, and possession of Class A drugs.
Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The apartment was secured pending a search warrant.
