LAGRANGE — A North Carolina man was arrested on felony drug charges Tuesday after state police found approximately 65.8 grams of crack cocaine during a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway.
Jeffrey C. Shaw, 44, of Greensboro, North Carolina, was pulled over at approximately 3:45 p.m. by members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit for a vehicle and traffic law violation while traveling northbound in the Town of Lagrange.
State Police K9 Vinn conducted an exterior sniff of Shaw’s 2025 Honda Accord and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent probable cause search of Shaw resulted in the discovery of the crack cocaine.
Shaw was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony.
He was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, a class B felony.
Additional charges include resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors.
Shaw was arraigned in the Town of Stanford Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center pending a future court date.
