PUTNAM — A 67-year-old man turned himself in to police Wednesday after being notified of a warrant for his arrest on a sexual assault charge.
Gerald Hill of 22 Jacqueline Way, Tiverton, R.I., surrendered at Putnam Police headquarters at approximately 5:30 p.m.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation that began in November 2023.
The warrant was issued recently by the Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Hill was charged with second-degree sexual assault.
He was processed and released after posting $125,000 court-set bond.
Hill is scheduled to appear Sept. 3 at Danielson Superior Court.
Police said no further details of the investigation are available.
