Biddeford police investigate altercation involving possible firearm

BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford Police Department’s Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call at 4:45 a.m. on Aug. 22 that an altercation had occurred at 34 Proctor Road.

The caller, who was from a neighboring residence, reported that one of the parties involved in the altercation was at their residence requesting medical care for a non-life-threatening injury.

Police and EMS personnel responded to Proctor Road and met with the injured party, a 42-year-old male, who was transported to Maine Medical Center Biddeford for treatment.

Information was gathered from the victim that a firearm may have been brandished.

Out of an abundance of caution, police requested that neighbors stay in their residences while they continued to investigate, securing the residence and the perimeter with Biddeford officers.

Officers have secured the residence and will continue to investigate this case.
