BOSTON — Officers from the District C-11, C-6, and B-2 Drug Control Units arrested 32-year-old Michael Wornum of Dorchester on Wednesday after executing two arrest warrants and a search warrant simultaneously issued by Roxbury District Court.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., officers observed Wornum exit the rear of 198 Highland Street in Roxbury on a bicycle.
While traveling on Dale Street, officers moved in to place him in custody.
During the approach, Wornum spit a plastic bag from his mouth into a fenced yard.
Officers recovered the bag, which contained approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine.
Wornum was placed under arrest, and a knife, cellphone, marijuana, and an undisclosed sum of U.S. currency were seized from his person.
Following his arrest, officers executed the search warrant at 198 Highland Street.
Six individuals were located inside and secured for safety while officers conducted the search.
Officers recovered a Springfield Arms Hellcat 9mm pistol, loaded with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine.
A silver Ruger .357 Magnum revolver, loaded with four live rounds and one spent round, was also seized.
Additional evidence included a large-capacity 9mm magazine, multiple bags of marijuana in three plastic bags and five multicolored ziplock bags, digital scales and Glad baggies.
An undisclosed sum of U.S. currency and personal effects belonging to Wornum of evidentiary value were also recovered.
Wornum was charged with two outstanding warrants for Possession of Class B Drugs and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on additional charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs, and Armed Career Criminal, Level 3.
