ROCHESTER — A 24-year-old Rochester man was severely injured Thursday morning when his motorcycle collided with a car making a left turn on South Main Street.
Hunter Petry was riding a 2022 Harley Davidson Iron 883 when it was struck by a 2010 Nissan Rogue driven by Raymond Cooper, 69, of East Rochester, according to Rochester police.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:29 a.m. near 111 South Main Street.
Police said Cooper was making a left-hand turn into a business when his vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and collided with the motorcycle.
The motorcycle sustained extensive damage and ended up underneath the Nissan, police said.
Petry was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with severe injuries.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
Cooper was not injured in the collision.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The Strafford County Regional Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation due to the severity of the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
