LANCASTER — A search warrant executed in connection with a sexual assault investigation led to multiple drug-related arrests and the apprehension of two people with outstanding bench warrants.
The Lancaster Police Department received a report July 22 of a sexual assault that occurred at 600 Main St.
An investigation led to a search warrant being granted for the property belonging to Daniel Benoit Sr.
Officers from Lancaster Police, assisted by Whitefield Police, New Hampshire State Police and New Hampshire Probation and Parole, executed the search warrant Aug. 21.
During the search for items related to the alleged sexual assault, suspected narcotics were located, prompting officers to update the search warrant to include suspected drugs.
Erik Curtis, 42, of Lancaster, and Brie Lalime, 23, of Orleans, were found on the property with electronic bench warrants for failing to appear in court.
Suspected narcotics believed to be possessed by Curtis were also located.
Lalime was released on a summons to appear while Curtis was held on $500 cash bail and transported to the Coos County House of Corrections pending a hearing in Lancaster District Court.
Liam Brock, 43, with no fixed address, and Renee Miller, 41, also with no fixed address, were arrested for trespassing.
Miller was additionally charged with possession of a controlled/narcotic drug.
Both Brock and Miller were released on personal recognizance bail with pending court dates in Lancaster District Court.
A vehicle belonging to Corey Rancloes, 44, of Columbia was searched and suspected narcotics were located.
All suspected narcotics will be sent to the state forensic lab for testing.
Based on lab results, warrants for possession of controlled/narcotic drugs may be issued for Curtis, Rancloes, Benoit and an individual identified as Gilman.
