YORK — A Wisconsin man was arrested on felony weapon charges following a family fight at a business in York.
Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports that deputies responded to a business on Craig Road in the Town of York at approximately 11:54 p.m. Aug. 16 for a report of a fight involving several people.
It was also reported that a person had been in possession of a gun during the altercation.
Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Colton Bruner of Mason, Wisconsin.
Authorities allege that Bruner had gotten into a physical fight with family members and had brought a handgun with him to New York State from Wisconsin.
The gun was never threatened during the altercation and had only been in the possession of Bruner, according to the sheriff’s office.
Bruner is not a New York State Pistol Permit holder.
Bruner was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputy Dylan Bowser and charged with felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
Bruner was transported to the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.
He was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Caledonia Justice Riggi.
The District Attorney’s Office recommended that Bruner be held on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
The judge remanded Bruner to the custody of the sheriff on the recommended bail and bond.
