Albany man arrested on drug, weapons charges after search warrants

ALBANY — A 39-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with a narcotics investigation.

On Tuesday, Aug. 19 around 9:10 a.m., detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Thurlow Terrace as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

During the search warrant, detectives recovered a quantity of crack cocaine.

Jason Bryant, 39, was located inside the residence and was taken into custody.

A second search warrant was subsequently executed at a storage locker belonging to Bryant at U-Haul located at 139 Broadway in connection with the same investigation.

During this search warrant, detectives recovered a loaded .357 revolver, a loaded 9mm ghost gun, and a loaded .22 caliber handgun.

Bryant has been charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, and one count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd.

He was arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
