Fulton police arrest Illinois man in kidnapping case

FULTON — At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 18, officers responded to a call regarding a missing individual believed to have been forcibly taken from a residence and forced into a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers on scene were able to obtain valuable information regarding the incident and a coordinated investigation with assistance from the New York State Police was initiated.

Further information was developed that the suspect was possibly taking the victim out of state.

The suspect was later located and taken into custody by New York State Police in Belmont.

The victim was found unharmed.

The suspect is identified as Ricardo X. Ledezma-Romero, 35, of Illinois.

Ledezma-Romero is charged with kidnapping in the second degree, a Class B felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor.

Ledezma-Romero is being held pending arraignment in Centralized Arraignment.
