TARRYTOWN — State Police arrested Edgar J. Torres Flores, 36, of Mount Vernon, on Aug. 10 for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law), Aggravated DWI, Driving While Intoxicated – 1st Offense, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
At approximately 5:57 p.m., State Police on patrol on Interstate 87 in the town of Greenburgh observed a 2015 Ford traveling south drifting onto the right shoulder of the road.
Troopers conducted a traffic stop and upon interviewing the driver, identified as Torres Flores, signs of impairment were observed.
Torres Flores was administered standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Further investigation revealed that a 15-year-old child was present in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
Torres Flores was transported to SP Tarrytown for processing, where he provided a breath sample with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.29%.
Torres Flores is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 5.
