BOSTON — A 17-year-old male from Dorchester was arrested on firearm-related charges following a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Dorchester Avenue on Monday, Aug. 18.
At approximately 1:24 a.m., officers on patrol observed a vehicle mount a curb and strike a tree while traveling on Dorchester Avenue toward Talbot Avenue.
The vehicle began smoking and leaking fluids, prompting officers to remove all three occupants for their safety.
Boston Fire and EMS responded to the scene, where the operator of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
During the crash investigation, officers recovered a coyote tan Glock 19 firearm from the rear passenger seat pocket.
The firearm had an obliterated serial number and was equipped with a large-capacity feeding device.
Further investigation revealed that an additional 17-round coyote tan Glock magazine was found in the pants pocket of the 17-year-old suspect, who had been seated in the rear passenger area where the firearm was recovered.
The juvenile was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, possession of a large-capacity feeding device and unlawful possession of ammunition.
