Springfield woman charged with petit larceny in mobile app fraud case

SPRINGFIELD — A 33-year-old Springfield woman has been charged with petit larceny after allegedly sending herself money from another person’s mobile application without consent.

Amber J. White was issued a criminal citation following an investigation by the Springfield Police Department into an incident reported on July 30.

Police said White allegedly committed petit larceny by fraudulently transferring funds to herself through someone else’s mobile payment application.

Officer Markus Watson led the investigation with assistance from Officer Vincent Franchi.

White is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on Oct. 7 at 8:30 a.m.

The incident was assigned case number 25SF003478.
