BROOKFIELD — A 35-year-old Williamstown man was arrested Thursday on multiple felony charges including aggravated domestic assault and sexual assault.
Sean McCarthy was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, first-degree unlawful restraint, aggravated sexual assault and criminal threatening following an incident on Cemetery Street.
Vermont State Police troopers from the Royalton Barracks responded to reports of an altercation at approximately 3:24 p.m. Thursday.
An investigation determined McCarthy committed the alleged offenses, according to police.
McCarthy is being held without bail at Southern State Correctional Facility.
Police did not release the name of the victim, in accordance with their policy regarding victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
