UTICA — Police are investigating a shooting that left one person wounded with gunshot wounds to both legs early Aug. 16.
Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Waverly Street at approximately 1:20 a.m. regarding reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police found blood and three spent shell casings at the scene.
Around the same time, Wynn Hospital contacted police about an individual who had been transported there with gunshot wounds to each leg.
The wounds do not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.
The Utica Police Department Major Crimes Unit is handling the investigation.
