Watervliet motorcyclist critically injured in collision with vehicle

WATERVLIET — A 41-year-old Watervliet man was critically injured when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle at the intersection of 19th Street and 12th Avenue on Aug. 15 at approximately 5:15 a.m.

The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on 19th Street when he struck a vehicle that had just made a left turn onto 19th Street from 12th Avenue, according to Watervliet Police.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and became pinned underneath the vehicle.

He was transported to Albany Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and has been cooperative with investigating officers, though charges may be pending.

The investigation is ongoing, and the identities of those involved will not be released at this time.

The Watervliet Police Department was assisted by the New York State Police and the Albany County Sheriff’s Department.
