ROCKLAND — A 27-year-old transient was arrested Thursday on drug and eluding charges after police located him as a passenger during a traffic stop.
Dylan McClure was wanted by Rockland police after he eluded officers earlier this week when they attempted to stop him for driving with a revoked license.
While fleeing during the prior stop, McClure was driving over twice the posted speed limit, failed to stop at a red light, and almost caused multiple accidents.
Officers did not pursue McClure due to knowing his identity at the time of the attempted stop and the extreme safety risks to other drivers posed by his operation.
McClure was charged with aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, driving to endanger, refusing to stop for a law enforcement officer and criminal speeding.
During McClure’s arrest Thursday, officers located crack cocaine.
McClure, who was out on probation for a prior felony drug charge, has been charged with a new felony unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs and is being held without bail on a probation hold.
