LEWISTON — Police are investigating a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian near Kennedy Park after a 911 call came in at approximately 12:55 p.m. today.
A female pedestrian was struck while walking along the Park Street side of the park, directly across from City Hall, according to the Lewiston Police Department.
Officers found that the vehicle had left Park Street, jumped the curbing and entered Kennedy Park before coming to a stop.
The injured pedestrian was transported to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The incident remains under investigation.
