Schenectady police investigate home invasion on State Street

SCHENECTADY — Two men entered a home on State Street early Wednesday morning, assaulted the resident and stole his vehicle, according to police.

Schenectady Police officers responded to 1764 State Street at approximately 6:39 a.m. Aug. 14 for a report of a home invasion that had just occurred.

The two suspects struck the male victim in the head and tied his hands before stealing his vehicle, police said.

The victim was treated at the scene by the Schenectady Fire Department and transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers searched the area and located the victim’s vehicle a short time later parked in the Crosstown Plaza.

Detectives are actively investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.
