DEXTER — A 23-year-old Dexter man has been arrested on domestic violence charges following an investigation into suspected abuse of a seven-month-old infant.
Kolby Drake was arrested Aug. 13 after an arrest warrant was issued charging him with aggravated assault, assault and domestic violence assault.
Members of the Dexter Police Department received a report of suspected abuse of the infant on the evening of Aug. 7.
The infant was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The Dexter Police Department requested the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North to lead the investigation.
Detectives investigated in partnership with the Dexter Police Department and the Department of Health and Human Services.
Drake is the victim’s father, according to police.
He was booked at the Penobscot County Jail and will have an initial court appearance later this week.
