Ellenville police arrest 4 in weapons assault investigation

ELLENVILLE — The Ellenville Police Department announced the arrests of four suspects following an intensive investigation into a reported assault with weapons that occurred at 8 Mill Street in the Village of Ellenville on Saturday, July 26.

Jesus D. Lasanta, 19, of Ellenville, was charged with assault in the second degree and conspiracy in the fourth degree, both felonies, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

He was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing court and released without bail.

He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.

A 14-year-old male from Ellenville was charged with assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and menacing in the second degree.

He was released to the custody of his mother and is scheduled to appear in Youth Court Part 1 at a later date.

A 16-year-old male from Ellenville was charged with assault in the third degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

He was released to the custody of his stepfather and is scheduled to appear in Ulster County Family Court.

A 16-year-old female from Ellenville was charged with assault in the third degree.

She was released to the custody of her mother and is scheduled to appear in Ulster County Family Court.
