GREENWICH — State Police arrested Victor M. Colio, 29, of Greenwich, on Aug. 4 on charges including strangulation in the second degree, assault in the third degree, menacing in the second degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
Troopers received a report of a past assault at about 8:45 p.m. Aug. 4.
The investigation determined that on July 28, Colio allegedly displayed and threatened the victim with what was described as an imitation firearm in Greenwich.
During a second incident on the evening of Aug. 3, Colio and the victim were engaged in a verbal altercation at a home in Greenwich.
During the dispute, Colio reportedly took the victim’s phone so they were unable to call for help.
He then allegedly struck them multiple times and strangled the victim to the point of unconsciousness.
The victim sustained visible injuries.
Colio was arrested at his home and transported to SP Greenwich for processing.
He was then transported to the Washington County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
