WORCESTER — Vice Squad officers arrested a 44-year-old man on drug distribution charges after observing what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction on Aug. 12.
Officers were conducting surveillance in the area of Oread Place at about 11:56 a.m. when they noticed Porfirio Burgos of Chandler Street holding a clear sandwich bag in his lap while several other people watched.
Officers observed Burgos hand a small item to another man, who was subsequently stopped by police.
Officers determined that the item given appeared to be crack cocaine.
Police stopped Burgos and recovered what appeared to be a larger bag of crack cocaine.
Burgos was arrested and charged with distribution of a Class B substance and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.
