Springfield police arrest armed suspect after gun call

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Police officers seized a loaded firearm and arrested 26-year-old Jawuan Loiodice-St. John on Monday after responding to a gun call.

Officers were dispatched around 1:40 p.m. to the 0-100 block of Trafton Road for a gun call.

Victims told police they bought marijuana from the suspect and then he pointed a firearm inside the mail slot of their door.

Officers located the suspect who attempted to break into an apartment while reaching for his waistband.

Officers placed Loiodice-St. John under arrest and recovered an illegal firearm.

The firearm was loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.

Loiodice-St. John of Pittsfield is charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, six counts of home invasion, three counts of attempt to commit a crime and resisting arrest.
