2 motorcyclists injured in crash with police cruiser in Tamworth

TAMWORTH — Two motorcyclists were injured Saturday afternoon in a crash involving a Tamworth police cruiser on Page Hill Road.

State Police dispatch received a report of the crash at 3:28 p.m. Aug. 9.

The preliminary investigation determined that Peter Beede, 51, a patrolman with the Tamworth Police Department, was driving his cruiser and made a U-turn when he collided with a 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Peter Anastos, 28, of Laconia.

Another motorcyclist, David Gilson, 28, of Ashland, lost control of his 1999 Triumph motorcycle and went off the road.

Anastos and Gilson both suffered injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Beede was not hurt.

No charges have been filed and all aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
