AURELIUS — A 20-year-old Auburn man was arrested Aug. 5 on a felony charge of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.
Calob B. Paige was taken into custody at approximately 2 p.m. on an arrest warrant, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.
The arrest stems from a June 10 traffic stop conducted by deputies at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Beech Tree Road in the Town of Aurelius.
Paige was operating a pickup truck during the traffic stop and was initially released with traffic tickets.
The owners of the pickup truck discovered several days later that the vehicle had been stolen at the time of the traffic stop.
The vehicle had also been involved in a motor vehicle collision at some point, according to the sheriff’s office.
Warrants were applied for the occupants of the vehicle for possession of stolen property following the investigation.
Paige was arraigned in CAP Court and released on his own recognizance.
