MANCHESTER — Manchester Police responded to an alarm at Market Square Jewelers on Aug. 8 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Officers arrived to find a shattered glass door and several display cases broken inside the store.
Surveillance video showed a man breaking the glass door to enter, then using a cane to smash open display cases.
He was seen reaching into one of the cases before quickly leaving.
Through the investigation, police identified the suspect as 62-year-old Edward Meiggs of Manchester.
Meiggs had been arrested last month for stealing from the same store.
The following day, officers located and arrested Meiggs.
He is charged with burglary, felony theft by unauthorized taking, and criminal mischief.
