HUNTINGTON — An 86-year-old Huntington man was cited Monday for violating a protection order after contacting a protected person by email.
Mark Smith was issued a citation following a Vermont State Police investigation that began at 7:12 a.m. Aug. 11.
Police said they were notified of a possible violation of a protection order.
The investigation determined Smith contacted the protected person by email, which violated the terms of the protection order.
Smith was ordered to appear at Chittenden County Superior Court Criminal Division on Sept. 30 at 8:30 a.m.
