POUGHKEEPSIE — A Poughkeepsie man was arrested Thursday night on multiple felony drug charges.
Lamar C. Smith, 40, was taken into custody by Poughkeepsie police at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Main Street.
Smith was wanted on an active arrest warrant related to a prior narcotics investigation.
The New York State Police Troop K Violent Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team and Poughkeepsie’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit conducted the investigation.
Smith faces charges including Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree and seven counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree.
The charges stem from alleged narcotics distribution at multiple locations in Poughkeepsie.
Smith was remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center pending arraignment.
