Narcotics investigation in Dunkirk leads to arrests

DUNKIRK — A narcotics investigation in Dunkirk led to the execution of two search warrants and the arrest of two individuals.

Narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the Jamestown Police Department, and the Dunkirk Police SRT carried out the warrants at 114 S. Gazelle St. and 704 Park Ave.

Germaine M. Dias and Joseph Szach were found inside 114 S. Gazelle St. during the search.

Authorities seized 30.32 grams of cocaine, 128.58 grams of crack cocaine, 4.5 grams of fentanyl, hydrocodone, suboxone, scales, packaging materials, and $359 in cash.

Dias was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Dias was taken to the Dunkirk Police Department and later arraigned in Dunkirk City Court.

Additional arrests are pending.
