WEYMOUTH — A 29-year-old Brockton man was arrested Friday in connection with the theft of a vehicle containing two French bulldogs.

Marcus Morse, of 124 Manley St., was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of larceny of property over $1,200, two counts of animal cruelty, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and two outstanding warrants.

Officers responded to the McDonald’s at 701 Bridge St. around 4:30 p.m. Thursday after a report of a stolen 2011 Nissan Frontier.

The owner said the vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside while she was picking up food.

Detectives located the stolen vehicle Friday after identifying an online listing that included a photo of its license plate.

Brockton police found the truck at Morse’s residence and detained him.

The two dogs were still inside the hot vehicle when officers arrived.

They were examined by Brockton animal control and released to Weymouth police.

Morse was booked and is being held at the Weymouth Police Department.

He is scheduled for arraignment Monday in Quincy District Court.
