Fall River police seize 4 kilograms of fentanyl in drug bust

FALL RIVER — The Fall River Police Department’s CAST Unit, along with the Massachusetts State Police CINRET, Brockton Police Department, East Bridgewater Police Department and Homeland Security, concluded an investigation into a drug trafficking organization.

The probe identified Ramon Nieves, 41, as the suspected supplier.

On Aug. 1, search warrants were executed at Nieves’ properties in Fall River, including his residence, two stash houses and his vehicle.

Authorities seized approximately 4 kilograms (3,915 grams) of fentanyl, $8,000 in cash and other evidence tied to drug trafficking.

Nieves was arrested by Massachusetts State Police and charged with trafficking in heroin, morphine, opium or fentanyl, 200 grams or more.
