PUTNEY — Deputies with the Windham County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Exit 4 Sunoco gas station on South Pine Banks Road on July 6 for a reported assault that occurred in Putney.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Trevor Thibault, 22, of Brattleboro, had driven from a residence in Putney to the gas station while impaired to the point he was unsafe to operate a motor vehicle.
A juvenile was inside the vehicle at the time of operation.
Thibault was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing before being released to a sober adult.
He faces charges of driving under the influence (first offense) and cruelty to a child.
The case remains open, and further arrests are expected.
Thibault is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.
