WEST MONROE — State Police responded to County Route 11 at approximately 3:24 p.m. on Aug. 6 for a report of a two-vehicle collision.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck, operated by Robert D. Esker, 73, of West Monroe, was traveling southbound on County Route 11.
The pickup was towing a hay wagon equipped with a slow-moving vehicle triangle and was slowing to make a left turn into a driveway.
A 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, operated by James R. Clark, 34, of Constantia, was also traveling southbound on County Route 11 and struck the rear of the hay wagon.
Clark was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Esker was not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing.
