BIDDEFORD — A 26-year-old man was arrested Thursday night on multiple warrants, including charges linked to two separate shootings in the city.
Emil Girard, listed as transient, was taken into custody at 8:47 p.m. near 14 Elm Street.
He faces charges of Maine probation revocation, a New Hampshire parole violation, and a Biddeford warrant for elevated aggravated assault, a Class A felony.
Girard was unable to post $50,000 cash bail and was transported to the York County Sheriff’s Department.
The Biddeford charges stem from shootings on July 31 and Aug. 4, both on Pearl Street.
A 46-year-old man was injured in the first incident, and a 21-year-old man was wounded in the second. Both received medical treatment.
Evidence gathered by the Biddeford Police Criminal Investigation Division identified Girard as the sole suspect in both shootings.
Additional charges are expected as the investigations continue.
The city canceled its National Night Out event, scheduled for Aug. 5, as a precaution.
