WEBSTER — A 37-year-old woman was arrested early Sunday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended when her vehicle crashed in a median.

Officer Shane Murray observed a Honda Civic driving on Pleasant Street at approximately 2:03 a.m. July 20 that was known to him from previous police encounters.

Murray advised Officer Sean Ebbeling of his observations, who located the vehicle shortly after on Bigelow Road.

Ebbeling recognized the driver to be Krysta Soldi, who he knew had a suspended driver’s license.

Soldi had been charged numerous times in recent months for driving her vehicle while suspended.

After passing Ebbeling’s location, the vehicle accelerated down Bigelow Road at a high rate of speed.

Ebbeling activated his emergency lights and siren and attempted to catch up to the vehicle, which was driving in excess of 70 mph.

The vehicle did not stop for the emergency lights and continued driving onto Worcester Road at approximately 80 mph.

Ebbeling radioed to other officers working the shift about the vehicle fleeing from him, which appeared to be driving toward Oxford on Route 12.

Ebbeling briefly lost sight of the vehicle until he approached the intersection of Worcester Road and Cudworth Road.

The vehicle had crashed in the median while turning onto Cudworth Road and there were a large amount of sparks coming from underneath.

The vehicle became disabled, which is when the driver, Soldi, quickly exited and refused to listen to Ebbeling’s commands.

Joined shortly by Sergeant Mroczek, Officer Murray and Officer Trinque, along with Oxford and Dudley police officers, Soldi and a passenger were removed from the car.

Soldi was subsequently placed under arrest.

Krysta Soldi, of Pleasant Street, Webster, was charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, speeding, marked lanes violation and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, subsequent offense.
