Worcester police arrest man in armed robbery of liquor store

WORCESTER — Worcester Police officers arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery at a liquor store Monday evening.

Officers were dispatched to a liquor store on SW Cutoff at approximately 7:38 p.m. for a reported armed robbery.

The victim told officers that the suspect asked him for some merchandise and then asked for a bag.

As the victim turned his back, the suspect pulled out a handgun.

Officers quickly found the suspect, Liam Chagnon of Worcester, on Greenwood Street.

Chagnon was placed under arrest for armed robbery.

The victim was not injured.

The Worcester Police Detective Bureau is investigating.
