SPRINGFIELD — Springfield police officers seized four illegal firearms, including a large capacity ghost gun, and arrested four suspects near the intersection of Taylor Street and Fairbanks Place at approximately 2:45 a.m. Saturday.
Officers initially responded to the 500 block of Worthington Street around 2:15 a.m. for a gun call.
Police received information that there was a fight and two suspects had guns.
Officers arrived and observed individuals matching the description of the suspects near the intersection of Taylor Street and Fairbanks Place.
Assisting officers located four subjects inside a vehicle.
The four occupants were detained: 26-year-old Tyrease Arzola, 19-year-old Jordan Arkins, 19-year-old Ezier Santiago and a 17-year-old juvenile male.
Inside the vehicle, officers recovered four firearms and a bundle of 10 bags of heroin.
One of the four firearms seized was a ghost gun capable of holding 31 rounds of ammunition.
The name, booking photo and specific charges for the juvenile will not be released due to his age.
Arzola is charged with possession of a large capacity firearm during the commission of a felony, making a firearm without a serial number, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, improper storage of a large capacity firearm, improper storage of a firearm (three counts), possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a class A drug, and improper storage of a large capacity firearm near a minor.
Arkins is charged with making a firearm without a serial number, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, improper storage of a large capacity firearm, improper storage of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a class A drug, and improper storage of a large capacity firearm near a minor.
Santiago is charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a class A drug, making a firearm without a serial number, improper storage of a firearm, improper storage of a large capacity firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, improper storage of a large capacity firearm near a minor, and carrying a firearm without a license (three counts).
