HALFMOON — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call Monday at 8:59 p.m. on Fellows Road in the town of Halfmoon.
Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Jennifer E. Garland, 35, of Halfmoon, for assault in the 2nd degree, aggravated criminal contempt (class D felonies), criminal contempt in the 1st degree (class E felony) and criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanor).
Garland is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to another person by means of a dangerous instrument and of violating an order of protection in doing so.
She is also accused of possessing a dangerous instrument with intent to use it unlawfully against another person.
Garland allegedly struck another person to their arm several times with a racket style electronic fly swatter that had exposed wires resulting in physical injury.
She was arraigned before the Honorable Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. in the Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in that court.
The victim was transported by Clifton Park-Halfmoon EMS to Samaritan Hospital for evaluation and treatment of an arm injury.
