KILLINGTON — Police arrested two people on outstanding warrants July 17 after one fled the scene of a two-car crash near the Killington Post Office.

Killington Chief of Police Whit Montgomery witnessed the crash and spoke with one driver while the second vehicle left the scene.

Police issued a be-on-the-lookout alert for the fleeing vehicle and located it shortly after on Killington Road.

Officers arrested Michaela Ellis, 31, of Saint Albans, and her passenger Peter Holbrook, 74, of Georgia, after discovering both had outstanding in-state arrest warrants during license checks.

Both were taken into custody without incident and lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

Ellis was also cited for leaving the scene of an accident and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.

Patrol Officer C. DeLorenzo and Chief Montgomery made the arrests.

The Vermont State Police assisted.
