PERU — New York State Police responded to a residential fire on Cayea Road at approximately 4:34 a.m. Aug. 4.
Local fire departments extinguished the fire and entered the residence.
Fire crews discovered a deceased individual inside, who was identified as Scott A. Booth, 50, of Morrisonville.
New York State Police spoke with New York State Fire Investigators at the scene, who determined the fire appears to be accidental and showed no signs of suspicious activity.
The Clinton County Coroner arrived at the scene and ordered the removal of the body.
An autopsy is scheduled for Aug. 5 at Glens Falls Hospital, with a time yet to be determined.
