SARANAC — Members of the New York State Police arrested Kalan M. Chase, a 20-year-old from Lyon Mountain, for driving while ability impaired by the consumption of alcohol on Aug. 3.
At approximately 12:17 a.m. that day, troopers responded to a property damage accident on Standish Road in the town of Saranac.
An investigation revealed that Chase was driving a white 2019 Ford Explorer southbound on Standish Road when she lost control, exited the roadway, and struck a house.
During the interview with troopers, Chase displayed signs of impairment.
Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, which she failed.
Chase was arrested and transported to the SP Plattsburgh station, where she provided a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol concentration of 0.07%.
She was released on an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Saranac Court at a later date in August.
No one was injured during the incident.
