UTICA — Utica Police units were dispatched to a residence on the 100 block of Hawthorne Ave regarding a domestic related incident on Aug. 2 at approximately 9 p.m.
Upon arrival it was learned that the male party had left the scene, however during the incident he had assaulted the victim by striking her in the face several times.
Additionally he began to fight with several other parties inside of the residence prior to fleeing.
As officers were taking the report, the male suspect arrived back on scene carrying a metal pipe.
He approached the officers in the threatening manner, and made statement to the officers indicating that he was there to cause them harm.
The officers drew their firearms and Tasers, and after repeated commands to drop the pipe, the male did so and was placed into custody.
As the male was being escorted to a patrol car he spit directly in two officers faces, covering them in blood and saliva.
The male was ultimately placed into the patrol car and transported to the Utica Police Department.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Lyndell Ladson age 42 of Utica was charged with assault in the third degree, menacing in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree due to a previous conviction, and four counts of harassment.
